For this purpose, Ergun Arıburnu, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of OMSAN paid a first visit to Tanger Med Port in Morocco, which has become the largest port of the Mediterranean Sea and is among the largest 20 ports in the world.

Signalling the new investments and visioner steps that will bring Türkiye’s logistics capacity to the next level in the world league, Arıburnu told that Türkiye has the potential to found a “logistics super hub” similar to Tanger Med thanks to the Türkiye’s increasing trading volume of Türkiye, particularly of Marmara Region, the Türkiye’s growing exports of automotive and railway-seaway integration. “Türkiye has the potential to found such a hub under the leadership of OMSAN,” said Arıburnu, noting that such a hub is a must-have project for Türkiye, which aims to be the “Logistics Base” of its region.
Arıburnu emphasized that Türkiye is OYAK is the most dynamic powers of Turkish economy, using the expressions “No doubt, such great visions and projects must be led by powerful organizations like OYAK. We desire to found a port like Tanger Med. Because, currently, we, with our Japanese partners, operate the Port Yarımca, which is one of the largest and most precious ports of Türkiye. Logistics is not a choice but a vital necessary

Conveying his analysis of and impressions on Tanger Med, the Chairman Arıburnu said: “the economic volume of more than 17 billion dollars formed by an industrial and logistics area of 5 thousand hectares in total, a developed investment area of 3 thousand hectares, and more than one thousand and 400 investors shows very clearly why Tanger Med has won the world league”, using the expressions: “While world trade is being reshaped, this structure at the intersection of Africa, Europe and the Middle East is not only a port but a strategical platform that change the regional power distribution in production and logistics. Here has the largest automotive production capacity of Africa and the Middle East, offering an integrated production ecosystem with its electronic, textile, aviation and agricultural industries. The power of global connections is the corner stone of this success. Underlining that Tanger Med is the right and realistic model for Türkiye in every aspect, Arıburnu finished his words, saying “In fact, what we see here a concrete model of how big leap forwards a nation can take when it turns production, logistics and global connections into a single strategy.
