OMSAN, the flagship of OYAK Group in the logistics sector, which the group has declared as one of the sectors that it will grow in the next 5 years, aims to expand and develop its overseas activities. While the company is acting within the framework of the new period ‘Strategic Growth and Global Positioning Plans’, it is displaying a remarkable performance from the Chairman of the Board to the General Manager, from the Director to the blue-collar employees.
While this performance was noticed at all levels, Ergun Arıburnu, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who visited the company’s offices in France and Morocco in a short time, said: “Our Romania Office is our gateway to Europe. As you know, ERDEMİR Romania, a player in the iron and steel industry, where OYAK has strategic superiority, is located there. We also provide services to this company that shines like a star. This plant produces electrical steel, one of the most metallurgically advanced types. As OMSAN, we offer services to the global giants of the sector at this point. We manage all logistics processes end-to-end, from raw material transport to final product delivery. We also visited ERDEMİR Romania and worked on perfecting the procurement processes in line with European norms.”

Pointing out that he flew 20 thousand kilometres in the last one month within the scope of visiting service offices and solution partners, and that this situation is contrary to the recent habit of holding business meetings online, Arıburnu added that “You can learn and evaluate the data and status of an iron and steel factory online. But you cannot learn what happens in that factory and the processes without going there, without putting the hard hat on your head and smelling the odour inside; no matter what automation you have, you cannot learn without touching the employees. Without seeing how finished cars are loaded onto wagons, you cannot comprehend the information that comes in quality process meetings. We carry not only cargo but also a responsibility. That is why we are on the field”.

Sharing his impressions about OMSAN Romania Office and ERDEMİR Romania, President Arıburnu said, “ERDEMİR is the apple of our eyes not only for us but also for our nation. Serving to ERDEMIR means serving not only our company and OYAK, but also to our nation. We consider ERDEMİR Romania from this perspective. Of course, in addition to our automotive transports from Romania, we also have car parks for finished cars. We are doing a great job in this area, too. My friends and I attribute this place a special responsibility and a close feeling. Everything’s going well. We are taking decisive and confident steps towards perfection.”
