OMSAN Chairman Ergun Arıburnu: “A strong Türkiye is built on a strong logistics infrastructure.”

OMSAN Logistics, one of Türkiye’s leading and long-established logistics companies, is taking part in TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland, held at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard Command in Kocaeli from August 20–23. Participating in the event under the OYAK umbrella, OMSAN is showcasing its integrated logistics capabilities, built on nearly half a century of experience connecting Türkiye’s production, trade and industry to global markets.

OMSAN Logistics, alongside fellow OYAK companies Erdemir, Miilux OY and OYAK Port, is bringing together its expertise at the OYAK stand at TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland, a major reflection of the National Technology Initiative in the maritime domain.

As one of Türkiye’s leading logistics companies, OMSAN provides integrated services across road, rail and maritime transportation, warehousing and customs clearance. At the event, the company is highlighting the strategic role of logistics across the entire value chain, from production and trade to industry and defense.

Arıburnu: “Logistics is a country’s ability to move”

Emphasizing that Türkiye’s recent advances in production, technology and the defense industry must be supported by a strong logistics infrastructure, OMSAN Chairman Ergun Arıburnu said:

“Today, logistics means much more than simply moving goods from one point to another. The continuity of production, the sustainability of trade, the competitiveness of industry and, when necessary, defense capabilities all depend on a strong and uninterrupted logistics system. In short, logistics is a country’s ability to move. A strong Türkiye is built on a strong logistics infrastructure. At OMSAN, we leverage nearly half a century of expertise to contribute to Türkiye’s strategic strength.”

Arıburnu noted that Türkiye’s strategic position at the crossroads of three continents offers significant opportunities in logistics, emphasizing that OMSAN’s future vision is built around this potential.

“Türkiye is not merely a country through which cargo passes; it has the potential to become a logistics hub capable of influencing the direction of global trade. We are at the center of routes extending from Europe to Asia and from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. At OMSAN, our goal is to reinforce Türkiye’s geographical advantage through strong investments in rail, maritime connections, our road network, as well as our warehousing and customs clearance capabilities. We are building a logistics architecture that connects production to markets and Türkiye to the world.”

“The strength of national production is completed by a strong supply chain”

Highlighting the special significance of TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland in demonstrating Türkiye’s transformation in technology and defense, Arıburnu pointed to the strong value chain created by the complementary capabilities of OYAK companies and continued:

“Here, we see the highly complementary capabilities of OYAK companies coming together. Erdemir’s high-performance steel produced for our national vessels, Miilux OY’s capabilities in submarine and ballistic steel, OYAK Port’s next-generation port technologies, and OMSAN’s integrated logistics strength are all parts of the same bigger picture. The strength of national production can only be completed by a strong supply chain capable of moving it seamlessly. Production is a strategic strength; delivering what is produced to the right place at the right time is an integral part of that strength.”

OYAK’s Industrial and Technology Strength on Display at Blue Homeland

At the OYAK stand at TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland, a model of MUGEM, Türkiye’s first indigenous and domestically developed aircraft carrier, is on display alongside high-performance ship steels produced by Erdemir. Miilux OY is showcasing its HY 80 and HY 100 grade submarine steels and ballistic products, while visitors are also being introduced to the applications of AI-powered cranes commissioned by OYAK Port at the İsdemir Port.

Hosted by the Ministry of National Defense and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland features a wide range of activities focused on maritime and defense technologies, including competitions in Unmanned Underwater Systems, Underwater Rockets and Unmanned Surface Vehicles.
